Our Mission

To provide leadership in learning disabilities advocacy, research, education and services and to advance the full participation of children, youth and adults with learning disabilities in today's society. We value promoting positive change through:| The Learning Disabilities Association (LDA) York Region promotes increased awareness and respect for persons with learning disabilities among the community at large, professional groups and relevant educational, social, recreational, medical, legal and vocational organizations. By providing support, guidance, resource materials and opportunities for sharing of information and concerns, the LDA for York Region assists persons with learning disabilities and their familities to meet their evolving needs throughout their lifetime. The Association plays a leadership role in actively advocating for greater research in the field of learning disabilities and for the legislative initiatives that will benefit the learning disabled. |
